Sami Komsan, Al Ahly’s assistant coach, expressed his happiness after qualifying to the final of the CAF Champions League competition.
In his post-match interview, Komsan reflected on the game and spoke about the team’s objectives for the upcoming period.
“Thank God we managed to qualify to the final. It was an important match and a difficult one too. Both teams were highly motivated to win. We had a slight advantage ahead of the game and we managed to make use of it.”
“You prepare for several diffident scenarios before the start of each game and thank God we managed to take the lead with the penalty we got in the first half. After Esperance’s player was sent off, the game was much easier for us.”
“Now we will have to focus on what’s next. We have an important game against Pyramids which we have to prepare very well.”
Al Ahly’s football first team is set to face Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa on 17 July in the final of the CAF Champions League final.
